自己紹介

My name is Marito Rodriguez and I come from Melbourne, Australia.　This is the second time I have lived in Japan but unfortunately my Japanese is terrible! Therefore, my plan is to practice what I preach and study Japanese as hard as possible. My recent research interests have been in Discourse Analysis based on the theories of Bakhtin and Foucault. My personal interests include travelling, food, hiking and Art. Luckily, Takushoku is set in beautiful mountains which I plan to explore, and of course Tokyo has some fantastic Art Museums and restaurants which I also plan to enjoy!

科目紹介

I teach English Speaking and Writing to First and Second Year classes. Each class meets three times a week. There are two texts books which are used to support the various tasks and projects throughout the course. The classes are student centred, flexible and adaptable to meet the different needs of each class. Students develop their communication skills with very active participation in a wide range of activities including pair and group work projects that combine both written and oral presentation skills. There is a strong focus on study skills, particularly vocabulary enrichment, directed at encouraging and supporting students to become more independent and self-motivated in their language learning.
