【国際協力学研究科】インドネシア・リンケージ・プログラム最終試験実施

7月16日から23日にかけて、大学院国際協力学研究科博士前期課程でインドネシア・リンケージ・プログラムの最終試験が実施されました。最終試験は、提出された修士論文についての口頭試問で、研究指導を担当する先生が主査、加えて関連分野の先生が副査を務めて実施されます。
今年度の最終試験は、いうまでもなく三密を避け、社会的距離を確保し、万全の体制で実施しました。
インドネシア・リンケージ・プログラムは、インドネシアの公務員を英語で教育するダブル・ディグリー・プログラムで、インドネシアと日本のそれぞれの大学で学位取得を目指します。大学院国際協力学研究科では、2007年から学生を受け入れ、すでに100人を超える修了生がインドネシアに帰国して活躍しています。
今回最終試験に臨んだのは昨年9月に来日した13名です。アーマド(Ahmad Rafiqi Dalimunthe)君だけは、2月にインドネシアに調査のため帰国後、日本への入国がかないませんでしたので、オンラインで実施しました。
これまでに最終試験で不合格になるケースもありました。その場合、帰国を延ばして修士論文を改訂したうえで、合格するまで口頭試問を受けなければなりません。そのため学生たちは真剣に取り組んでいました。
今年度は幸いにして審査の結果全員が合格し、9月9日に予定されている修了式に臨むことになりました。

Indonesia Linkage Program Graduate School of International Cooperation, Takushoku University Final Examination Given

The final examination of the Indonesia Linkage Program, Graduate School of International Cooperation, Takushoku University, was given on July 16 through 23, 2020. It took a form of oral examination over the master's thesis submitted by applying graduate students, in which supervisor of each applicant acted as the chief examiner to be assisted by professors in the related fields as associate examiners. Needless to say, the maximum attention was given to prevention of infection with COVID-19, avoiding "Three Cs" (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings) and respecting the social distancing.
Indonesia Linkage Program is a double degree program designed to train Indonesian government officials in English so that they can earn academic degrees from both Indonesian and Japanese universities. GSICS started accepting Indonesian students in 2007 and, as of 2019, over 100 graduates have returned home to contribute to their homeland's development.
Altogether 13 Indonesian students took the final examination this year. All of them have studied at the program since they arrived in Japan last September. Since Ahmad Rafiqi Dalimunthe was not allowed to enter Japan after his return to Indonesia in February to conduct a survey, an online examination was conducted on him.
There have been cases of failure at the final examination, in which case the student has to postpone his/her return to Indonesia so as to revise the thesis and undergo the oral examination until he/she passes. This has given an extra incentive to students to take the examination seriously. Fortunately, all of this year's 13 applicants passed the examination and they are all invited to the commencement ceremony scheduled on September 9, 2020.
