The Intensive Japanese Language Program at Takushoku University (Tokyo) held its Christmas Party
As part of quality Japanese Affairs classes, on Thursday, December 12, 2019, the Intensive Japanese Language Program, called Bekka in Japanese, at Takushoku University held its Christmas Party in the Vista Lounge within the Bunkyo Campus, Tokyo, Japan. This venue is on the ninth floor and provides a panoramic view of 180° of Tokyo. Divided into eight classes (Classes A-H) on the basis of their Japanese abilities ranging from N5 to N1 in the Japanese-Language Proficiency Test (JLPT), the Bekka students in each class respectively designed and made a cake within 40 minutes by employing novel concepts. The students had purchased some decorative items prior to this event with the help of a limited budget assigned to them; they were expected to demonstrate their concepts on the sponge cakes provided by the Bekka's office. The eight decorated cakes of each class appeared to be quite unique and different. A Bekka student in each class gave a brief presentation about the interesting concepts of the cakes in Japanese in front of the participants including university students in the international-exchange activity circle, homeroom teachers, and the other Bekka students. Finally, the Bekka students happily enjoyed their cakes while chatting with other participants. The goal of this quality educational event was to help the Bekka students of each class to work as a team when using Japanese.
