掲載日:2025年01月14日
From November 1 (Friday) to November 2 (Saturday), the Bekka, Intensive Japanese Language Program held an autumn study trip to the foothills of Mount Fuji, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, visiting Lake Kawaguchi. Students from 11 different countries (listed alphabetically: Bangladesh, China, Indonesia, Korea, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nepal, New Zealand, the Philippines, Taiwan, Thailand, and Vietnam) participated, along with their instructors and student assistants* from the program. They gathered near Myogadani Station in Tokyo, the closest station to the program, and traveled to Fujiyoshida City in Yamanashi Prefecture abord three buses.
On the first day, the participants tried their hand at preparing hōtō, a local specialty dish, which they enjoyed for lunch. Afterward, they visited Oshino Hakkai, where they admired the crystal-clear spring water and scenic views of Mount Fuji. The group stayed overnight at a hot spring hotel offering spectacular views of Mount Fuji.
On the second day, the students visited Fuji-Q Highland, where they experienced Japan's advanced amusement park attractions. Having previously studied Mount Fuji in their classes and seminars on Japanese culture, the students were able to deepen their understanding of Japan by appreciating the mountain, soaking in hot springs, and engaging with various aspects of Japanese culture.
*The Student Assistants of the Japanese Language Program are undergraduate students of Takushoku University who support class advisors and program students during weekly Thursday class seminars and program events while engaging with the program students.
