On Wednesday, September 24, the Bekka, Intensive Japanese Language Program, hosted a cultural event entitled "Bringing Washi and Origami Closer to Daily Life", inviting an instructor from OCHANOMIZU ORIGAMI KAIKANN (Tokyo) to conduct an origami workshop. For many students, this was their first encounter with origami. Together with the Student Assistants, they folded square sheets of origami paper into a variety of shapes. Students shared their impressions of the workshop, with one commenting: "I had a wonderful time today. Folding the small hat was especially enjoyable, and creating the big monster with a wide mouth at the end was a real challenge." This origami workshop provided the students with a meaningful opportunity to experience Japanese culture firsthand.
