On October 25, the 20th Anniversary Ceremony of the Institute for Japanese Language and Culture (Bekka for international students) at J. F. Oberlin University was held at Centenario Hall, Shinjuku Campus. In addition to members of J. F. Oberlin University, about 70 participants attended, including faculty and staff from other universities and Japanese language schools.

Mr. FURIHATA Tomohiro, Director of the Japanese Language Education Division, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), delivered a congratulatory address, followed by a keynote lecture by Professor Emeritus SASAKI Michiko of J. F. Oberlin University on the theme "The Role and Future Position of the Bekka for International Students in the view of Japanese Language Education."

Afterward, a panel discussion was held on the theme "Challenges and Prospects of the Bekka for International Students in the view of Japanese Language Education." The panelists included Professor Emeritus SASAKI Michiko (J. F. Oberlin University), Mr. ZHOU Hang (Standing Auditor, Hokuriku University), Associate Professor ISHIZUKA Mie (Chief of Academic Affairs, J. F. Oberlin University Bekka for International Students), and Assistant Director ASAI Naoko from our school, presenting on our current situation and initiatives, as well as our prospects. The panel discussion featured lively exchanges of ideas and proved to be a highly meaningful and engaging program.
