A Bekka graduate advanced to the doctoral program.

掲載日:2023年10月19日

The Bekka, celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2022, offers a variety of subjects to help students develop their desired career paths. Some Bekka students who have already graduated from universities abroad have gone on to study for a master's degree in Japan after completing their education from Bekka, and even continue applying to doctorate programs. One such student, Mr. Shen, having been studying in the doctoral course at the University of Tokyo since April 2023, recalls his memories of his time at the Bekka as follows.

SHEN RUIFENG [Nationality: Chinese. Shanghai Institute of Technology (in China, Bachelor) → Bekka (2021 graduate) → Tokyo University of Science, Graduate School of Science and Technology, Department of Applied Biological Science (2023 graduate, Master) → The University of Tokyo, Graduate School of Science, Department of Biological Sciences (Enrolled, Doctor)]

At the Red Gate of the University of Tokyo

During my first year in Japan, I studied biology as a research student at the Tokyo Institute of Technology. At that time, as I felt the necessity for deepening my Japanese language and professional knowledge, I entered the Bekka, Takushoku University. My first impression was the high cost-performance of the program, with tuition fees of about 600,000 yen per year. Then, I visited the school for an interview and found that the teachers were extra nice and professional, which boosted my confidence in the Bekka. I was placed in Class H, the highest level, and studied for around one year. Halfway through the year, the COVID-19 Crisis occurred, and classes were held remotely. However, I still remember that I enjoyed the face-to-face speech contests and the autumn leaf viewing in Tokyo Koishikawa Park. Studying in Bekka is undoubtedly important, but what is more valuable is that I made many true friends in the class. Even now, we hang out together and support each other. In this sense, I would highly recommend the Bekka, Takushoku University. For those of you who have come all the way from your home countries to study in Japan, I still strongly suggest that you be aware of the requirements for learning Japanese even if you can speak English. The teachers at the Bekka teach Japanese in an interesting and easy-to-understand manner. Furthermore, the Bekka offers many unexpected and wonderful opportunities, like interacting with local Japanese student assistants. I would like to take everything I have experienced at the Bekka as my life treasure, become a 'rainbow bridge' between China and Japan, and play an active role on the world stage as a researcher.
